Brussels

Rode our bike through Budapest residential neighborhoods lined with cherry trees to the airport. The roads were not terribly bike friendly and we got turned around several times, but also enjoyed a gelato with a group of elementary school children. We arrived at the airport with plenty of time before our flights so were able to pack up the bikes and change clothes. After a short flight we landed in Brussels. After collecting the bikes and putting air in the tires we loaded them onto a bus headed for Brussels. Our hotel was not sure we could fit the bikes in our room but after assuring him we were sure they would fit we were allowed to bring the bikes into our room. After enjoying Fritland fries we crashed looking forward to a day exploring Brussels.

Locks and Canals

Belgium is full of locks and canals. Paths along the canals are wonderful for bikes as they are flat with no traffic.

Most hotels are very helpful in storing bike, either in the luggage area, or in your room. Elevators are the most difficult part of getting bikes into hotels. Ian & Grace
