New Tubes Blowout - The Cause
Climbing up Highway 9 we heard an explosion, a van driving by swerved and stopped, totally freaking out the driver. Grace’s rear tire went flat in an instant. We had pumped our tires to the max PSI on the cool dark of dawn. As the day progressed and we climbed to 2200 feet and the weather warmed up increasing the pressure well beyond the recommended pressure. We replaced the tube, let air out of all our tires, and learned a good lesson.
This was a pretty incredible day. You may want to break it into two days, but we were naive having never ridden with luggage and thought “how much tougher could it be?”
