Tabor to Český Krumlov

We rode through beautiful countryside full of wildflowers and castles. We stopped and ate lunch in a little village under their May Pole. We traveled through village after village each as charming as the last. At one point we rode along the river with other Czech families all out on bikes enjoying the beautiful afternoon. Once the trail took us through we were in a beautiful forest, I felt like Little Red Riding Hood, while in the forest we came to a point where we had three paths to chose from. We chose a less trodden path that led us down a rutted dirt road, through cobwebs and trees growing out of the path. The path then led us through a cow pasture until we hit the actual bike path. All in the day of a fun bike adventure. After climbing many hills we descended into the delightful medieval town of Krumlov. The next morning we explored the castle and town of Krumlov. The Czech buildings and castles were so unlike anything we had seen in in Europe. As we were leaving the town we stopped to take a picture and a Chinese tour group passed us. A gentlemen from the group stopped and motion to the bikes saying something that I did not understand. Then he came up and nudged me aside and grabbed the handlebars of my bike and called to his wife to do the same to the other bike. Then he had someone take a picture of he and his wife with our bikes. We all laughed and smiled as they gave us back our bikes. We waved and rode up a cobble stone road out of town. As we rode I heard someone yelling so I turned around and the gentleman was running up the hill after us so we stopped and when he reached us he motioned that he had left his hat on the back of one of the bikes. We smiled and handed him back his hat and we all chuckled and continued our climb out of Krumlov.

Winding rivers surround this medieval castle town

Didn’t stay long enough. We learned from this first ride to allow more time in our schedule to stop and enjoy our destinations.
