Kendal to Carlisle

After a quick breakfast at Greggs we climbed out of town. The climb as slow and steady with a very long lovely descent.

We saw so many types of sheep. Sheep with horns, sheep without horns, floppy ear sheep, standing up eared sheep, black sheep, white sheep, black and white sheep, sheep with long tails, sheep with short tails, sheep with no tails. So many sheep.

Later in the afternoon we met the Runny Granny, She too was doing the end to end but she was running it, 75 miles a day. We spoke to her as we moved along, she was not going to stop, and talked to her sag wagon crew. She is trying to show old people they can get out and do things, she is quite inspiring.

In Penreth we grabbed lunch from M&S and ate on a bridge over a stream and watched the sheep. The landscape is beginning to change, more rugged rock walls dividing fields and the accents of the people are getting thicker the further north we go. The weather has been clear but cold we are wearing our jackets most of the day now.
